Relax, it's clean.
Do you have or are thinking of installing a Jacuzzi brand bath tub in your home? These tubs are very popular because they are inexpensive and you can pick one up at your local Home Depot. There is however a small issue with the Jacuzzi brand bath tubs that one should know about. Water settles in the tubing within the tub after you use the jets. Over time this causes a black moldy build up in the tubes. This can be quite disgusting. Imagine taking a nice relaxing bath and turning on the jets only to find that this black gunk shoots out and ends up in the tub with you.
There is an easy and inexpensive way to solve this nasty issue. The first thing you will want to do is take an entire gallon of bleach and dump it in your tub. You will then fill the rest of the tub with water just above the jets. Run the jets until the water no longer shows signs of the black mold. This could take several hours. If you use your tub regularly and with products such as bath oil you will want to repeat this process every six months.
If you are not up for the type of maintenance that Jacuzzi brand bath tubs take you may want to spend more money on a different brand or just stick with a soaker tub. If you buy a home with an existing Jacuzzi tub you will want to use the cleaning method above prior to using.
